From an old performance eval

I was looking through an old peformance evaluation from a job from 17 years ago and found one negative comment.

Terrie should be careful of her demeanor when she's in a crunch situation and is approached by others for help as she sometimes can be abrupt and threatening.

I guess some things never change. :-)

I think it's because I don't multitask well, and because I'm an introvert. At the time, I was working as a supervisor in a tech support department, which meant that techs would come to me for help while they were on the phone with a customer. I had a lot of other work to do, and it was hard for me to understand that answering their questions and trying to help was really my main job there...to me, it felt like an interruption. Add in the fact that I was frustrated that some couldn't use their intuition like I could use mine (esp. to tell that a customer was lying), and it lead to a lot of irritation on both sides.

A more recent (though still pretty old) review at a different job said, "...continue to work on staying focused on non-emotional communication during times of pressure/stress."
