First Stop - Elko, NV
The Shiloh Inn is a great dog-friendly hotel -- they hand out treats at the front desk. Laika was excited to learn that being on the road means she gets to sleep on the bed, something she doesn't get to do at home!
Road Dog
Laika was very endearing as she curled up in her spot next to the sleeping bags in the back seat.
The cog railway train we road up on.
The crew at the top drove up to within a mile of the summit, but had to stop because of ice, and walked the rest of the way! They were finishing their opening preparations as we arrived by train.
Delicate Arch at Arches National Park
Dogs are not allowed on trails at most national parks. But while Steve climbed to the view for Delicate Arch, Laika and I found a 4x4 dirt road that offered us an excellent view of it also!
Me at Mesa Arch, Mesa Arch at Canyonlands National Park
Another tourist snapped this photo for me while Steve waited with Laika at the trailhead. The lady taking it was nervous because the cliff drops off completely right behind me.
Goblin Valley State Park, Utah
Our campsite at the park; four weeks ago they opened new bathrooms, and two weeks ago they opened new showers. Our timing was perfect.
Red mud paws and mouth
Laika, after digging around in the mud at Goblin Valley. She got to make use of those new showers, too, before getting back into the car!
